Senior Legal Expert (US Attorney)

About the Role

We are hiring experienced US-based attorneys to contribute to a frontier AI training project. You will apply your legal expertise to help shape the next generation of AI models, working on high-impact tasks that require sharp legal reasoning, careful analysis, and clear written communication.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality written work product grounded in US legal practice
• Apply rigorous legal analysis to complex, ambiguous scenarios
• Deliver work that meets the standards of top-tier law firm output
• Collaborate asynchronously with a small team of senior experts

Required Qualifications

• JD from a top US law school (T14 strongly preferred)
• 3+ years of post-JD practice experience at a top-tier US law firm (V50 / AmLaw 100 or equivalent prestige)
• Active US bar admission
• US-based
• Exceptional written communication and legal reasoning skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working with Mercor on AI training projects
• Big Law transactional or litigation experience at a highly prestigious firm
• Clerkship experience (federal preferred)
