Data source: Pay figures are derived from active job listings scraped daily from 10 AI gig platforms — Mercor, micro1, Invisible Technologies, Toloka, Prolific, Handshake AI, Braintrust, Appen CrowdGen, xAI, and others.
Scope: Only listings with explicitly posted hourly rates are included (listings without pay data are excluded). Rates above $300/hr are filtered as outliers.
Averages: “Avg/hr” is the mean of posted maximum rates within each group. Pay ranges show the full spread from minimum to maximum across all listings in that group.
Update cadence: This page revalidates every hour. The underlying job database updates daily via automated scrapers running on GitHub Actions.
Limitations: Not all platforms disclose pay upfront — platforms like Appen and Handshake AI often post rates after onboarding. Figures here skew toward platforms with transparent pricing (Mercor, Braintrust, micro1, Invisible Technologies).
